About Us

The Shire of Sylvan Glen is a branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA.org) located in the panhandle of West Virginia. The SCA is an group of people who are interested in researching and recreating aspects of pre-17th century europe. Things such as various arts and crafts, activities and even simulating the martial combat of the period.

The SCA is divided into various regional kingdoms throughout the world. In the US there are 19 major kingdoms. Sylvan Glen, specifically, is a part of the Kingdom of Aethelmaerc which includes West Virginia, Pennsylvania and New York.

Around this site you’ll find the various activities that we offer locally to our members as well as the faces that help make this shire the most fantastic organization in the eastern panhandle.
